Here is a winter roads storm update from Ottawa Public Works Staff as of 12:45pm Saturday Dec 17th:
All salt trucks and plows are continuing to work on priority roads, the road conditions range from snow covered to some slushy spots.
Priority sidewalks and winter cycling routes have all been opened up and the units maintaining them are continually plow them. Residential sidewalk plows are clearing their beats now and will continue until they are completed.
Some sections of priority sidewalks and intersections will be partially snow covered from the roadway plows. These will be opened up as the sidewalk machines go through their beats today and tonight.
We will be starting a residential plow run after lunch today.
The cleanup of all streets, winter cycling routes, sidewalks, bus stops, corners and dead ends will continue all day and into the night.
Day shift staff will be staying until 7pm and night shift staff will come in for 7 pm to continue the clean up over night.
