This morning the Ontario government announced a series of measures to address housing affordability. This is important for everyone, regardless of where you are with respect to your own housing. I credit the province for taking this action because tackling housing affordability generally goes hand in hand with tackling homelessness. Making a good home in Ontario and Ottawa should be accessible and affordable to everyone.
The plan proposes to "introduce a comprehensive package of measures to help more people find affordable homes, increase supply, protect buyers and renters and bring stability to the real estate market." The province outlines 16 new measures to help control real estate and allow more people to find suitable housing.
