Ottawa – The Lansdowne Skating Court will open today at 5 p.m. for the season, followed by the opening of the Sens Rink of Dreams at City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) on Saturday, December 5.
Weather permitting, the rinks will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. A change room will also be available daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Skaters need to bring their own skates as rental services are not available on site. Please note that certified multi-impact helmets are strongly recommended.
Schedule a bit of time on Saturday to get in your first skate of the season and enjoy the Mayor’s 15th Annual Christmas Celebration in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. Join the fun from 2 to 6 p.m. with skating on the Sens Rink of Dreams, horse-drawn wagon rides on Marion Dewar Plaza and plenty of hot chocolate, BeaverTails™ pastries and roasted marshmallows. Donations of non-perishable items for the Ottawa Food Bank are encouraged.
The City’s other refrigerated ice pad, located at Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Drive), will be opening soon. The City also operates more than 250 other outdoor rinks, which will be open for skating as soon as weather permits.
