Over this week I've taken some time to check in on Britannia, Belltown, and Crystal Bay neighbourhoods to monitor the flooding prevention and potential issue sites. I've kept in close contact with our public works staff and will continue to work with them over the weekend. Our general Manager of Emergency and Protective Services, Anthony Di Monte has just issued a Memo outlining plans for the weekend.
The city is increasing 3-1-1 staff and keeping them updated on the situation. I would encourage you to call 3-1-1 and/or check out www.ottawa.ca for the latest on flood concerns and how to get help. Other steps being taken are outlined in the memo below:
