On May 23, 2015 members of the Britannia Woods Adult Circle were joined by volunteers from Lowe's Canada, Ottawa Community Housing and my office to help build a community garden.
The supplies were donated by Lowe's and the community did the heavy lifting with the help of the many volunteers.
It was a great project to be a part of and one that fills a need expressed by members of this community for many years.

Residents in Britannia Woods will have access to the gardens and are learning how to grow vegetables, fruit, and herbs.
This means they can grow their own healthy food which provides not only better access to good food but also exercise and educational opportunities for them and their children.
Community gardens are good for everyone.
