The City of Ottawa is evolving the way it delivers its annual budget with the goal of making it more accessible to members of the public.
With that in mind, you are invited to an information session on Wednesday June 24 at Ottawa City Hall.
I would encourage you to attend to learn more about the way that the City allocates tax payer dollars and to learn about how we decide how to prioritize spending.
This information session will be an excellent opportunity for you to expand your understanding of the budget process in general and of the specific programs and services funded through the municipal budget.
There will be two sessions offered simultaneously, one in English and one in French.
City Treasurer Marian Similuk and Deputy City Treasurer Isabelle Jasmin will host the sessions. Residents will be given a presentation and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
As we continue to work together to make Ottawa and Bay Ward even better communities in which to live, work, and play it is essential that we all understand how the budget process works.
If you would like to attend the session please contact Grace.Okeefe@Ottawa.ca so that staff can gauge expected attendance.
The details for the information session are as follows:
When: Wednesday, June 24, 7:30 p.m.
Where: City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
English: Champlain Room, 2nd floor
French: Honeywell Room, 2nd floor
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, my team are on hand to address them. You can reach us at any time at Mark.Taylor@Ottawa.ca or during office hours at 613-580-2477.
